my top 4 party season outfits

Christmas is not so long away now and Christmas parties have begun - the highstreet is blooming with those party outfits. I have already got my Christmas outfit sorted but these 4 were my favourites. Missguided, ASOS and Pretty Little Thing are great places to browse for that perfect Christmas outfit...
party season outfits (1)
Sequin Cut Out Playsuit - Missguided: £40 - Sparkly outfits are a must for Christmas especially if you want to stand out at your work Christmas do. I have always been a big playsuit fan as I sometimes feel uncomfortable in a short dress. I absolutely love it because you could style it with a leather jacket and maybe a sparkly bag. Wearing stilettos would probably make it a knock out look.

Shift Dress - Missguided: £35 - I really love the 60's style of dresses recently with the high neck and in the classic shape. You could easily make this very retro with simple shoes and a clutch bag. This would've actually been the one I'd buy if I didn't already have an outfit.

Sequin Stripe Jumpsuit - ASOS: £85 - A pricey number but I love it. If you aren't a fan of a dress but want the sparkly effect, then this would be perfect for you. It is so simple but also elegant at the same time. You could wear this again for any occasion.

Scoop Back Sequin Dress - Pretty Little Thing: £30 (SALE) - Now if you really want to look your best at your work do, then this would be absolutely perfect for that. I love the style of this dress, with how oversized it is so you can scoop the back so you can show some skin. It is very sparkly but that's what Christmas is all about. It looks so flattering!

Which one of these outfits would you style?

visiting the christmas markets - birmingham

Being a huge lover of Christmas, naturally Birmingham's Christmas Market has been on my to do list for many years as I was born and still live in the city. With a couple of work friends, we decided to kick off the Christmas season and made our way to the market. If you are thinking of attending the Frankfurt Christmas Market or just want to know more about it, then here are my five top things I have learned:
Start your experience off with a beer! The Germans know how to make good quality beer and the market is just full of stalls offering just that. You'll pay around £4 a pint, plus a £3 deposit on the glass which you can either take back to the bar or keep yourself. Some stalls offer the paper cup option but if you want the experience then you should definitely go for the glass.

Attend the market on an empty stomach! Trust me when I say you will not go hungry at the market, never have I seen so many food stalls in my life. Start off with a yummy hot dog. If you are not a fan of sausages there are plenty of other stalls offering hog roasts. If you are foolish enough to eat before arriving to the market there are plenty snack options like a pretzel and roast chestnuts. For those with a sweet tooth save room for waffles and nutella crepes!

Warm up with a hot chocolate or mulled wine! "If the weather outside is frightful" then nothing can be more delightful than a hot drink. You'll find the stalls offer more than your average mug of hot chocolate. You can get anything from brandy to baileys added, as well as marshmallows and cream.

Get those last minute Christmas gifts! It was not just those yummy food stalls that caught my eye, there is plenty more to see. You can find traditional Christmas decor like nutcrackers, of all shapes and sizes and wreaths. Besides the festive gifts you can also find things like handmade jewellery, candles, and woolly hats. The market is a great place to find unique gifts and inspiration for those who are hard to buy for.

End your day by going ice skating! The ice skating rink is a definite must do. Even if you have never skated before it still is a fun experience especially with friends. It's £9.50 for adults for 49 minutes on the ice. There is also a photographer that's always on the ice with you if you would like a picture taken with your group of friends to treasure forever.

Have you visited the Birmingham Christmas Market or any other ones?

lush haul (5)

While I was doing a little Christmas shopping I decided to go into the one shop that excites me, Lush. I saw all the Christmas products and I just found myself screaming inside with joy. I don't think anyone like myself can go into Lush and resist buying anything - If you can I'm extremely jealous of you! I had already bought a few bits on my previous trip to Lush but I saw these products and I couldn't just leave without trying them out.

MMMelting Marshmallow Moment - Bath Oil: Doesn't this look like something you would get from a pick n mix? The smell is so strong of sweet marshmallow. So these kind of work like bath bombs, you just put them into your bath and they melt slowly, rather than fizzing like the bombs. This is such a cute little melt - it smells just like candy!
The Magic Of Christmas - Reusable Bubble Bar: This one truly captures Christmas, I mean just look at it! It smells of oranges and candid fruits. Like the Magic Wand, it is reusable and you can get up to 10 baths out of the product according to the girl who served me in Lush.
Big Bang - Bubble Bar: This isn't the biggest bubble bar in the world, but that doesn't bother me much to be honest. It's a beautiful blue shade, with yellow dots around it and a big pink star in the middle. The pink star is actually a bath melt. I'm really excited to see what this brings to my bath time.
Bar Humbug - Bubble Bar: Although this doesn't smell too Christmassy, I really do like the scent! It smells like liquorice and blackcurrant which is a nice alternative to my favourite which is The Comforter this winter.
Snow Fairy - Shower Gel: Every year I see bloggers stocking up on the festive favourite so that they can use it all year round - so I thought I would buy it to see what all the hype was about. And now I see why! It smells bloomin' gorgeous! I may have to buy myself another bottle.

the christmas tag

What are in the photos?
Acorns Christmas Decorations - Paperchase
Christmas Bell Hair Scrunchie - ASOS
The Magic Of Christmas Wand - Lush
Christmas Pudding Beanie - Matalan (Similar Here)
Jingle All The Way DVD - Amazon
  1. What is your favourite Christmas film? There are so many to choose from, but I'd probably have to say Jingle All The Way. I watch this every Christmas without fail. You obviously can't beat The Grinch and Elf, those and other films really do get me into the festive spirit.
  2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning? I tend to open one present on Christmas Eve which is just new pyjamas to wear for Christmas morning. I have done this ever since I was a kid so it's become a tradition for me now. Then we open all the other presents on Christmas morning and some when we meet up with our family.
  3. Do you have a Christmas memory? When I was younger my grandparents would take me to this neighbourhood that decorated all their houses so amazing. Like I'm talking lights that flash along to Christmas music. I loved just sitting in the back of the car looking at all the amazing decorations.
  4. Favourite Festive Food? I LOVE pigs in blanket. When my mum does the Christmas dinner she always gives me extra because she knows how much I love them.
  5. Favourite Christmas Gift? This is a tough one but I'll never forget when my parents wrapped a big box and every time I opened it another box would show up and then another and so on. When I got to the last box it contained McFLY tickets! I was literally so happy as this was my first McFLY concert of many more to come.
  6. Favourite Christmas Scent? At the moment I am loving cinnamon and I have a candle that smells of Holiday spices. It is bloomin' gorgeous.
  7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions? I tend to just sit with the family and watch many Christmas films and munch on so much chocolate.
  8. What's on the top of your tree? It is a big silver star. It used to be an angel but she broke. (sad emoji face)
  9. As a kid what was one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received? I never asked for any certain present when I was younger and still don't. I am over the moon with whatever I do get.
  10. What is the best part about Christmas for you? Spending time with my loved ones. It makes me so happy to see my relatives happy.

christmas wishlist (2)

christmas wshlist (2)
Fujifilm Instant Mini 8 Camera In White - Amazon // Matte Lipstick In "Glastonberry" - Charlotte Tilbury // Pug Print PJ Set - Topshop // Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette In "The Vintage Vamp" - John Lewis // Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate - Hotel Cholat // Mary Berry Cookery Book - Waterstones // Star Shine Ring - Pandora // Christmas Mug - Cath Kidston

The festive shopping has begun and here I am today to bring you what I am hoping is under my tree this year. Shame I couldn't add Harry Styles to the mix, but I could just hope and pray, right? Starting with a Fujifilm Instant Mini 8 Camera which I have been wanting in like FOR-EVER and I was going to buy one but it only ever comes to mind when it's Christmas. It's perfect for when you are with your family and can just take photos. And instead of adding a filter and making your face look 100 times better you can just get that nostalgic feeling of getting your photos developed and not knowing what to expect. There's also something honest about that perfectly imperfect photograph. Charlotte Tilbury's lipsticks are probably on every bloggers wishlist. Why? Because they are so pretty and classic. They have incredible lasting power and don't dry out your lips. I know everyone's favourite is "Glastonberry" which is an intense berry shade. If you buy me this, I will probably wear it and then kiss your face all over. One of the things I do love to receive on Christmas morning are new pyjamas. Seriously, once I get those new pyjamas I will wear them the whole of Christmas day, they are so comfortable and these pug ones from Topshop look so adorable. This Charlotte Tilbury palette is just made for Christmas - it's just perfect. I bet you are now wondering why I added hot chocolate to this wishlist. Well, if you didn't know I absolutely love hot chocolates and salted caramel...so them being together just sounded heavenly. Hotel Chocolat do drinkable delights. Now I am back into my baking I need to know a lot from the star baker herself Mary Berry and her book. Lot's of ladies will be waking up Christmas morning hoping to find a lovely piece of jewellery under their tree and I am feeling how they feel. I love this star ring from Pandora, it would remind me of Christmas every day. Lastly a mug to add to my collection which is a Christmas one from Cath Kidston. I love their mugs so much and this one would be perfectly to have a tasty beverage in.

lush star dust bath bomb

It's that time of year where Lush start bringing in their Christmas range. This pretty much excites me so much as I really do love their Christmas products. They always look too good to use especially their Star Dust Bath Bomb which caught my eye. It's a plain white star as you can see with subtle gold lustre and although you can't see it in the picture there's also spots of a frosty blue in it. It contains fine sea salt, fair trade vanilla absolute, rosewood oil and bergamot oil. There's only a light scent and I would say it's vanilla based.

When I did drop it into the bath I thought it would just fizz in under 20 seconds, but instead it was holding out for a bit longer, lasting maybe a minute or so. It starts off with a white foam and then some light flashes of blue start to appear. Soon enough some small red, blue, green and yellow stars started to come out from the middle. They were made out rice paper so they did soon enough dissolve. This gave such a pretty effect as the coloured stars moved around the water.

When I got out of the bath the lestre settled onto my skin. Although once I dried and moisturised myself some of it went away. The bath was also a tiny bit glittery but it went away easily as soon as I cleaned out the bath. At £2.95 it is one of the cheapest products in the Christmas range and although it doesn't put on much of a show as many of the other products that Lush have to offer, I thought it was a lovely bath bomb. If you know me from my other Lush reviews then you will know that I do prefer bubble bars, but I do love some bath bombs that offer some benefits to my skin as long as they're not too expensive.

Have you tried any of the products from the Christmas range?

Green Check Shirt Dress - New Look // Embellished Jumper - H&M // Freshman '79 Sweater - Topshop // Sleek Highlighter Eye Palette - Boots // Pug Hot Water Bottle - New Look // Alice In Wonderland Calendar - Nouvelle Daily // Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation - Boots

Payday isn't so far away now and I am pretty excited. Although I will be buying the rest of Christmas presents for my family and friends, I will most likely be treating myself to a few bits. Starting with a check dress which I am obsessed with. I have always wanted to own a check dress, just because they look very casual but you can always make it stylish for a night out. I really really need this jumper from H&M. I tried it on a few weeks ago and it was so so soft. I didn't buy it at the time because I didn't have any money for it, but I will be getting it just in time for Christmas as you can get away with wearing it on the special day. Another sweater from Topshop which I'm sure they have had in stock before because I remember really wanting it. It reminds me a lot of Grease the movie. Onto make-up and I fell in love with this palette from Sleek. I mean, look how pretty it looks! How cute is this water bottle. Now the nights are getting colder I could do with a water bottle to keep my feet warm at night. Soon enough we will have to throw away our 2015 calendars and get a 2016 one. I love this Alice In Wonderland one, it's originally from Rifle Paper Co but Kate Lavie who has a lovely blog has her own shop now and is selling this. Lastly is a foundation from Benefit which I am dying to try. It's oil-free which is great for me as I really don't like oily foundations as it makes my skin break out, so I will be giving this foundation a try.

cheap winter date ideas

Thing's can be very costly and expensive even just for one date night out! That's why today I'm going to share with you a list of cheap, fun and inexpensive date night ideas for this winter. Some of these are what me and Sean actually tend to do...
  1. Youtube Night In: Youtube has always been mine and Sean's back up plan. I can't even begin to tell you how much fun we had sitting next to each other watching hilarious videos! We'd take turns picking the next video. We'd spend hours watching the most ridiculous things
  2. Living Room Fort: Now the evenings are getting colder all you want to do is just put on a couple of movies and have a nice hot chocolate. But why not making it more fun and take all of those folded up blankets you have and build a giant fort. Make some snacks and then just pick a couple of films you both like on Netflix or have a look through your DVD collection.
  3. Outdoor Ice Skating: A lot of your local shopping centres will have an outdoor ice skating rink at some point which will go on until January. I tend to go to one of these every time they come around as they just fun to do. The cheapest I have ever paid is £11 which isn't bad. You can easily Google a place near to where you live to see if one is nearby.
  4. Check Out Local Winter Festivals: Not only do we have festivals in the Summer, but in the Winter too. They'll be craft shows and Christmas events which can sometimes be free to attend but they are worth having a look at.
  5. Visit A Museum: Sometimes winter can get quite cold and all you want to do is be warm inside. Look to see if there are any free museum days in your city.
  6. Drive Around And Check Out The Christmas Lights: I don't know if anywhere where you live has this but nearby where I live there is this one neighbourhood which go all out for Christmas and they allow people to come by and check out there lights.
  7. Go Bowling: Bowling is fun as a couple, but it's even better with friends - make it a double date! Wowcher offers loads of discounts for bowling groups.
  8. Go To A Theatre: To really get into the holiday spirit, buy tickets for a local production. Obviously buy the cheapest tickets, sit back and enjoy the show.
  9. Game Night: Enjoy a night of board games. Pull out the old classics like Monopoly and Scrabble. And if you're feeling really naughty, get out Cards Of Humanity.
  10. Cookie Day: Why not make some festive cookies. You can both bake them and then decorate them after.
  11. Fancy Resturant: Go to the fanciest bar or restaurant in town, order a cocktail and enjoy. You can linger and enjoy the romantic setting without ordering a pricey meal.

make-up brush scrubber egg cleaner

Cleaning Make-Up Brush Scrubber Cleaner - Ebay (£1.06)
I'm super lazy when cleaning my brushes. It's satisfying when I do finally do it. But recently I found a little gem on Ebay which really gave me more encouragement. This baby is called a brushegg. I had seen these around before but I could never find them until I was scrolling through Ebay and it caught my eye. I never really thought of getting a brush cleaning 'accessory', but I thought "why not, let's give it a try" and here I am to review it for you.
It's got dense silicone bobbles at the end and thick silicone ribs running across most of it. You can fit two fingers comfortably inside the hole (steady on...) but the inner edges aren't super comfortable if you're cleaning brushes for ages which can be a problem for me if I am cleaning the brush I use for foundation which is the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. The bobbles are really good for getting small brushes super clean. But the surface is too small for big powder brushes like my Real Techniques Powder Brush. Although it does protect my fingers from getting cold and wrinkly from the running water.
When it comes down to cleaning my brushes, I do like to use this just to get the messier brushes super clean. But It really isn't necessary, and you can just clean them by the way you already do it. You can see a post of how I clean my brushes here.

Do you use a tool to clean your make-up brushes?

So, on the 13th I turned 22 and I decided that I wanted to make a list of things that I want to achieve as a 22 year old before I turn 23...oh the thought scares me.

birthday wishlist (2)

I bet you are waiting for me to say it aren't ya? I'm feelin' 22! Well, inside my head I am singing that well known song by Taylor Swift that you have to sing when you do turn the age of 22. I really cannot believe that I will be turning 22 in 10 days time. I'm not much of a birthday fan, I used to love birthday's when I was a kid. If I was invited to a birthday party I was the happiest girl, because of the cake of course. I am more of a Christmas lover, although I do sure as hell like presents. The items below are more of wishful thinking and more of a list that I will probably go out and buy in the near future. Although if my family and closet friends are reading this and have no idea what to get me...then here you go.

KitchenAid Stand Mixer In Apple Cider - John Lewis // Rose Gold Rings - Pandora // Denim Jacket - Topshop // White And Rose Headphones - Experience Headphones // Q & A 5 Year Journal - Amazon // Prada Candy Perfume - Feel Unique // Candon Powershot G7X - Amazon // Pug Mug - Emma Bridgewater
Swooning at how amazing this stand mixer looks. I have been wanting one of these for months. Now I love my baking again, I need a good mixer in my life. Pandora have a lovely collection of rose gold in right now and I am in love with these two rings, If I get two I would be very lucky. I love this denim jacket from Topshop would be so perfect for the chilly days. Back to rose gold and I have been lusting over these headphones for a while now. Getting tired of ear buds, I want my ears to feel comfortable and look fab. I've heard a lot about this Q and A 5 year journal, thought this would be great to write about the things that I get up to by the time I am 26, blimey. Now, I know I will get a new perfume for my birthday as I always do so this would be one that I would like pleaseee. I am hoping to go on holidays next year with Sean and this camera would be perfect to film and take those shots of everything that I see. Lastly a pug related item is a Emma Bridgewater mug. I love her mugs so much but I had to go for one with pugs on!

benefit they're real tinted primer

I get far too excited when Benefit release a new product. In this months Elle Magazine, there is a fab little freebie from Benefit. It's they're real tinted primer which isn't available to buy for another 9 weeks. I wasn't aware that I needed to prime my lashes before applying my normal mascara but apparently you do. I had tried the they're real mascara before but I much prefer the roller lash mascara so it seemed to work out much better.
The primer is designed to go on before your normal mascara and it will do all the separating, lengthening and boosting work for you. The brush is a lovely thin one, which really grabs hold of the lashes and separates them really well. Once you pop on your normal mascara it looks fab. This primer certainly helps your lashes look amazing. If you don't fancy those long lashes, then the primer comes in a brown shade so it can be worn on it's own for a more natural look.
As I didn't know you needed a primer to use on your lashes, I was impressed with the they're real tinted primer. I didn't have to use my eyelash curlers as when I apply this it helps to grab those lashes really well and pull them up, giving them a bit of length as well as a curl. I'll definitely pick up the full size when it is released, will you?

bruslem park

I am getting use to taking outfit posts now, so here is one from today when I was at Bruslem Park. As this was the day of Halloween, me and Sean decided to go on a cute lunchtime walk. I was dressed very casual as I was only going for a walk. I still love my lilac coat from Primark that I got last winter along with my ripped knee jeans from ASOS. Again I have my gold backback from New Look which I just can't get enough of it. It is now my new favourite bag. I did buy a cute coin purse from Accessorize which goes with the bag so I am pretty much in love with the golds/coppers this month. You will find the links at the bottom of what I am wearing.

payday wishlist (6)

Purple Check Shirt - New Look // Suedette Biker Jacket - New Look // Snow Fairy Shower Gel - Lush // Sweet Cinnamon & Caramel Pumpkin Swirl Candles - Bath & Body Works 1 - 2 // Pumpkin Beanie - ASOS // Block Heel Knee High Boots - SpyLoveBuy // Laura Geller Bronze-N-Brighten Bronzer - Debenhams

I absolutely love October not just because of Autumn but the fact that I get paid again this Friday! So here is my usual payday wishlist. Starting with this check shirt from New Look, you can never really go wrong with a checked shirt can you? It's just the perfect layering staple item for those chilly days. I have been looking for that perfect biker jacket for so long and I think now I have found the right one from New Look. It looks so stylish and comfortable. I'll have to pop into my local shop and try this baby on. No surprise on why I added Lush's Snow Fairy shower gel in this wishlist. IT'S BACK! I am dying to get my hands on this before it sells out. Last year I made the bad mistake of waiting until the middle of December and they were completely gone. But this time I will try and get it early. I recently found out that Bath and Body Works do so many amazing autumnal scented candles. I looked into Yankee Candle but they don't seem to do any autumnal scents which I am gutted about as I love Yankee Candle's. But I might have to make a big order from Bath and Body Works as they have some great bargains. How cute is this pumpkin beanie?! I have been looking for this EVERYWHERE. I have enough beanie hats but this one needs to be added in my collection. I have decided that I am now bored of wearing my ankle boots so I am looking into investing in some knee high boots. Not sure if they will suit me so will still have to look around but I love this pair from SpyLoveBuy which is a website that sells amazing bargain shoes. Lastly a bronzer that I saw that's new in Debenhams by Laura Geller. I love bronzes like this, it looks too pretty to use but is apparently really good.
