my new autumn bits

I am so happy that A/W styles have now popped into the stores, so of course I went a bit crazy. But I am very happy with what I have got. Primark and New Look have so many lovely pieces in right now and it was very hard to leave some behind in the store but I will most likely go back again to purchase them. For now these are some of the bits that I have got.

Primark had SO much a/w stuff that I just couldn't control myself. I decided to pick up a cute burgundy pinafore/dungaree dress because I have been wanting one for so long! For £12 I couldn't resist and it goes with everything. I am already wanting to wear it out but it is far too warm to yet. Next to that I saw a cute black/grey denim jacket for £12 also. Denim jackets were never my 'thing' fashion wise, I always thought they were uncomfortable to wear and just never found the right one. This one from Primark is perfect, it's short and the sleeves roll up perfectly.
As I was looking around I came across two pretty blouses. £10 each I couldn't resist especially because of how pretty they both looked. They have these cute ruffles at the front which adds a little bit of detailing to give it that sort of vintage look which I like.
New Look had a lovely range of autumn items but I just couldn't bring myself to spend so much money in there, so I just went for one thing and it was this lovely leopard print funnel neck top. I was debating whether to get the top or the skirt, but I just loved the top more. It has a cut out at the back which shows a bit of skin.
Lastly I went into Lush and decided to pick up two pots of goodness. Firstly I went for the salted coconut hand scrub. As soon as the winter months hits my hands are going to become dry and parched. So I picked this up to exfoliate, cleanse and hydrate them. It smells divine with the argan oil, lemon, sea salt and coconut leaves.
Lastly I picked up a soon to be favourite of mine which is the cup o' coffee face and body mask. I have been wanting to give this a try for so long and now I finally have it. One of the girls in Lush said that this a perfect wake me up for the mornings especially for your skin. All you do is smooth it over your face and body, leave it for 10 - 15 minutes and then rinse it all off in the shower. The smell is just strong and dark, I love it already.

Have you stocked up for Autumn/Winter yet?

the cutest fairy cakes

Yesterday was The Great British Bake Off Day and I couldn't be more happier. I decided to bake some of Tanya Burr's Chocolate Cookies from her baking book and made some simple fairy cakes. I thought I would share with you the recipe that helped me make these cute fairy cakes just in case you would like to make some yourself.

To make at least 12 fairy cakes you will need:
110g/4oz of butter or margarine, softened at room temperature
110g/4oz caster sugar
2 free range eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
110g/4oz self-raising flour
1 or 2 tbsp of milk

For the icing you will need:
300g/10½ icing sugar
3 tbsp of water
3 drops of food colouring (optional)
pretty cake decorations to add on top

Method:
- Preheat your oven to 180C/Gas 4 and line 2 x 12-hole fairy cake tins with paper cases.
- Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until a pale colour. Beat in the eggs, a little at a time, and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Fold in the self-raising flour using a large spoon. Add a little milk if the mixture isn't a soft dropping consistency. Spoon the mixture into the paper cases until they are half full.
- Bake in the oven for 12 minutes, or until golden-brown on the top. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.
- For the icing, sift the icing sugar into a large mixing bowl and stir enough water to create a smooth texture. Stir in the food colouring if you want to.
- To ice the fairy cakes, drizzle the icing over the cakes, sprinkle with decorations and set aside until the icing hardens.

Happy baking guys!

my pamper picks

When it comes to taking time out for yourself, I like nothing better than to relax in a Lush bath and loads more products. I thought that I would share with you my top pamper picks what I use to get myself in my own dream world.
I will also share some tips on how to de-stress and feel a lot more positive.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea - Bath Tea - I decided to pick up this bath tea salts from the body shop catalogue and I absolutely adore it! The price may put you off but it is totally worth it. I also bought the infuser to go with it.

Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar - I know that I talk about this all the time but it really is the best. It creates so many baths if you crumble in little pieces at a time. The pink bubbles have an uplifting and lingering scent to the skin, which leaves you feeling super happy.
The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Glow Mask - A product that hasn't been released yet is this charcoal mask from the body shop. I feel so special to own this and to be the first to try it. I have only used it once and it has helped my skin glow. An oily t-zone is a huge issue for me and this helps that. They are bringing out different kinds, so you better keep your eyes out for them if you are interested.
Lush Big Blue Bath Bomb - This is a wonderful smelling bath bomb and leaves your skin so soft. Seaweed does come out of the bomb and floats around the bath so if you aren't keen on things floating around in your bath then this one isn't for you. It is very relaxing with the lavender oil but fresher than Twilight.
Leighton Denny Miracle Mist, Speed Drying Spray For Nail Polish - Painting my nails is such a chore, but once I have done them my nails look a lot more happier. If you are like me and can be really impatient with waiting for nails to dry, this spray is totally right for you. I got this in a Glossy Box and ever since then I have already bought a second one.
Barry M Nail Polish Limited Edition 'Golden Sands' & 'Beach Keen' - What have I been wearing on my nails do you ask? Well, I have been adoring these limited edition ones from Barry M. Nude nails are so classy and right up my street recently. Adding a little bit of shimmer makes them look so pretty. Golden Sands has a bit of shimmer in and is so much better as a top coat, and Beach Keen is a beautiful blush colour with an amazing shiny finish.

What is included in your pamper evenings?

beauty boots haul (3)

I had a little splurge into Boots in store and online, I thought I would share with you what I have bought. Most of these are very new to me so I can't wait to try them! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and give me your opinion.

Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water 400ml / £4.00 (on offer) - Simple has always been a skin care brand that I have adored ever since I was a teenager and was going through the break outs. Now I still do but Simple always help! I decided to pick up their new micellar cleansing water as I was running out of my Bioderma anyway and because it was on a special offer. I have already tried this out and it removes my make-up perfectly well and quickly, and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean.
Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil / £4.50 (on offer) - Another Simple product that I decided to pick up was their cleansing oil which I also think is brand new. This came with my order yesterday so I am yet to try it out yet.
L'oreal Paris Nude Cushion Foundation / £14.99 - A product I am not so sure about yet is this cushion foundation by l'oreal. I have heard a lot of good things about this, but to me it doesn't do a lot. It is said to give great coverage to your face when for me, it doesn't do that. I find the sponge very awkward to use and for the price I paid I am disappointed.
Sleek Make-Up Creme To Powder Blush In 'French Rose' / £5.99 - Sleek do some beautiful blushes and they have some lovely blush palettes. Their powder products are really great. So I would definitely recommend checking out their creme to powder blushes.
NYX Dark Circle Concealer / £6.50 - This is a nice creamy and very high coverage concealer, I love this! Because I am suffering with dark circles under my eyes I just picked this up not knowing how great it really is. Watch colour choice though as I'm very pale and not tanned, so I bought quite a pale orange toned colour online. But I have been using some highlighter concealer/lighter concealer like Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer which helps tone the colour down on your skin and lasts the whole day.
NYX High Definition Blusher In 'Rose Gold' / £5.50 - I love this blusher, it is bloody gorgeous as are all the other colours they have. But I had to pick up Rose Gold because I was interested in what it would look like on my face. It blends in so well and I think this could be the perfect blusher for Autumn.
NYX Micro Brow Pencil In 'Chocolate' / £7.00 - I usually go for Soap & Glory's Brow Archery and this NYX one is a good dupe for that especially at £7! It blends in so well and it looks natural which I like my brows to look like anyway.
Maybelline Lash Sensation Mascara / £7.99 - I remember when I once tried this mascara from a friend and I loved it so much. This gives my lashes length and volume without being too clumpy which I hate from most mascaras. I am already enjoying using this again.
Barry M Nail Polish Limited Edition 'Golden Sands' & 'Beach Keen' - How beautiful are these? I am in love with these colours. Boots are seeing these limited time only so If you want to pick them up, I suggest you do. I painted my nails last night using Golden Sands and I am loving how gorgeous it looks. Also Barry M Nails are just the best!
