a few new things for autumn

With all the shops stocking amazing decor for Halloween and Autumn I find it hard to resist spending a little more. At this time of the year I love to buy most of my clothes and homeware as I just adore everything about it!

I couldn't resist picking up a few things to decorate my home with. I got these cute battery operated pumpkin fairy lights from Homesense which have been hanging from my bed. They were just £2 and they are so bright for battery operated. They also had ghosts ones which I will go back and get at some point.

Candles are a big thing for me when the early nights draw in and I just want something glowing in my bedroom, so I have picked up a few candles this month. First one being a Partylite one, I had never heard of this company before but a friend of mine introduced me to them and now I have about 3 jars of their 3 wick candles (which are amazing!) my Autumn inspired one is called "Maple Walnut". This smells incredible, I haven't light it that much as I don't want to waste it away too quickly. While I was in Homesense I did picked up two candles. I found this Essenza candle that smells like almonds and vanilla, it is really lovely and has been on my bedside table. I did also pick up these tea lights that smell of pumpkin, I haven't took any out yet but they do smell so nice.

Who doesn't love finding a cute pumpkin mug? Well, I found one, in Sainsburys! I have been having hot chocolate topped with marshmallows and it looks ever so cute. They should still have it in stock if you want to grab one yourself.
As I love to bake for Halloween, I decided to pick up these cute cupcake decorations from Homesense. For £2 I couldn't resist. Now I just need to find the time to bake some delicious cupcakes and use them!

For bedding I found the perfect Autumnal duvet set from ASDA. I sadly cannot find the one that I have on their website, but they do have so many nice ones for great prices. I can't wait to get myself a festive one for Christmas.

10 things to do this halloween

1. Carve some pumpkins with Sean, we did this last year and they both went terribly wrong! Now I think we could be ready to do them properly.
2. Bake some spooky treats. I am loving looking at Pinterest for some inspiration, I have some ideas in mind.
3. Have a long Halloween Lush bath using the sparkly pumpkin bubble bars. I have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use one and I think Halloween will be the perfect day to do so, as it is full of uplifting oils and has a hint of sparkles.
4. Take my youngest cousin treat or treating. Last year it was her first time and she really loved it, so I have decided to take her again.
5. Grab myself this adorable velvet cat bag from ASOS.
6. Paint my nails in dark, vampy shades.
7. Create some smokey eye looks using my Urban Decay Naked palette.
8. Curl up on the sofa with a new book, Frozen Charlotte sounds like a great book for Halloween.
9. Have a Harry Potter movie marathon with some treats like Mr Kiplings Frenchie Fancies.
10. Visit Homesense for more home touches for this time of year. They are amazing during A/W time.

lush haul (9)

Last weekend I finally popped into Lush to pick up a few pieces from their new Halloween Collection. They had a lot of the Christmas Collection also, but I was drawn to the cute pumpkins and pretty leaves. My bedroom and bathroom has already been filled with incredible scents, so so happy with my purchases.

Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar - A purchase I had to make again as I picked up a few of these last year is the sparkly pumpkin. I adore the scent of this little cutie - citrus and cinnamon. The fragrance lingers onto your skin and creates so many bubbles which I love coming from a bubble bar!

Rose Jam Shower Gel - Although this is from the Christmas range, I couldn't just not pick up a small bottle of Rose Jam as it is my all time favourite. Vanilla infusion combined with cleansing Sicilian lemon oil and fresh berry juice, it is one to lather up in the shower because it is gorgeous.

Ruby Red Slippers Bubble Bar - How lovely is this bubble bar? Another one for Christmas this year and I am in love. I have to say, this smells IN-CRED-IBLE. The spicy, floral fragrance will just relax you while you click your heels together in the bath.

Autumn Leaf Bath Bomb - This scent is ideal for Autumn with Japanese maple, soothing sandalwood oil and uplifting bergamot and neroil, It's the perfect morning bath treat. I saw a demo of this one in store and it creates lovely reds and orange clouds as it fizzes away.

Shoot For The Stars Bath Bomb - One bath bomb that they have improved and changed is Shoot For The Stars. I saw one of the girls in the store do a demo of this and I was hooked instantly. It looks incredible to watch especially while you're in the bath, watching the water turn into a starry night sky.

Monsters Ball Bath Bomb - I thought this one would be a fun bath treat to have judging by the colours. I can't really describe the scent but It is really uplifting so I could imagine using this on the cooler days.

a weekend in barcelona

On the 1st of October, Me and Sean's family packed up and headed to the airport for an early morning flight to sunny Barcelona. We were going to Barcelona because we were going to a concert to see The Red Hot Chili Peppers and to sight see of course.

We got there at around 10am their time and pretty much went straight to our hotel. We stayed at Hotel Barcelona Caredral which was just next to the famous catedral. Our hotel room was beautiful, lots of room, air-con and a huge king-sized bed. It was lush!
We started the day with a tapas at a small restaurant. Started off with a san miguel beer which is essential when you visit Spain. Then we ordered three different plates of small amounts of food. First we had a salted cod in a battered ball which was delicious, second we had squid which I have never had before so I was excited to try it and I surprisingly liked it. Lastly we had small steaks which were really nice also that we ended up having 4 more again.

Shopping wise, all the shops were just outside of the hotel. One shop that I enjoyed was called Happy Pills where you can get sweets/candy from. The concept was pretty cool, you buy any sized bottle, a label to put around the bottle and then just add all the sweets you like. Considering I'm not a sweet lover person I really loved it.
I did find my favourite fashion shops like Bershka, Pull & Bear and Stradivarius. Also I came across a Nyx shop, was very exciting.

One of the only things we had planned for the trip was a night at Palau Sant Jordi to see Red Hot Chili Peppers. I had never been to Palau Sant Jordi before, it is massive.
As we realised the doors weren't going to open until 7pm, we saw that the olympic stadium was just across from us. The boys decided to pay to go onto the pitch and have a kick about whilst me and Sean's sister Amy sat in the VIP with drinks.
We had some drinks at the hotel bar before the show, the mojito I had was the best I had ever had. The concert was great, I was a little too sober but Red Hot Chili's put on a great show.

I have to say the walk from the metro station to the venue was a beautiful scenic walk. We had to go past the Museo Nacional Barcelona (a museum), wow that was bloomin' gorgeous! I wish we'd of had the time to go into there.

The following morning we sort of slept in and missed breakfast, we soon checked out and left our bags in the hotel so we could explore Barcelona a bit more. Me and Amy headed to a little cafe next door to the hotel called Chocolat-Box Cathedral which I had my eye on since the first day we got there. I went for a coffee and a croissant that had caramel sauce on top. Was very delicious!

We headed out onto the high street and visited the shops. I did get a Christmas decor with a little bit of Barcelona on it for my tree this year and a few gifts for family members. Once the boys finished at the Camp (football stadium) we all met up at The Hard Rock Cafe for 'lunch' but was just a massive one.

All in all, a wicked trip to Barcelona! It's such a beautiful city, especially the warm weather! I think me and Sean will be venturing there again next year to see more of BCN.

beauty bits i will be wearing this autumn

Now we are in October I have been pulling out some of my favourite vampy shades to wear all this month to the lead up to Halloween. Although there was a time when I never wore this type of make up look throughout the month but now I love to add hints of festive to my beauty routine. Today I thought I would share with you which bits I will be wearing throughout October.
On my eyes, I have been smudging some purple eyeshadow under my lower lashes for a soft, smoky effect. W7's 'In The Nude' eye shadows are my favourite to use this time of year especially because of the purple/brown shades. They are everyday colours and for evening looks I will go bold and reach for the deep shades. These looks work well with berry lips and long lashes.

Cheeks, I like to go for light pink for the rosy cheek effect. I am loving Nyx High Definition Blusher in 'Nudeitude' . This blush is pigmented but not to the point where I'm having to tap off any excess from the brush, which I like. I find that because I have pale skin, it gives me a natural looking colour. You could go ahead and use this all over your face if you wanted to for a flush colour.

On my nails, I am always browsing through Pinterest for creating a Halloween nail art design or sticking to a dark nail polish. I always grab my three favourites from Essie and they are - Licorice, just your regular black polish and The Lace Is On, a dreamy shimmery plum colour and Smokin' Hot, a light grey.

For lips, I have the gorgeous Nyx Matte Lip Creams in the colours - Morocco, Madrid, Prague, Rome and Transylvania. I cannot wait to start wearing these colours and my collection is getting bigger. My staple lipstick for me in October is MAC Diva, a nice berry that lasts for hours on the lips. Something for Halloween is MAC Cyber, a very deep shade perfect for any Halloween look.
