the body shop haul (1)

Yesterday I decided to go to the Merry Hill shopping centre mainly to get some more Tsums Tsums from the Disney store. If you haven't heard of them then where have you been? But after I got them I decided to take a trip into The Body Shop as I recently joined their loyalty card as you get 10% off your purchase which is pretty good for me as I love The Body Shop way too much. But I also had a voucher to spend to get £10 off when I pick up items that are worth £25, so I did that and well you know what happens next. I came out with some purchases that were recommended to me by a helpful girl that works at the Merry Hill store. Let's get onto what I bought!

Mango Body Sorbet - Firstly I went straight to the mango range which caught my eye first, I picked up the Body Sorbet first. I had heard of these body sorbets before but just never thought to give them a try but the scent just changed my mind. They are essentially a moisturiser, but are lighter meaning they sink in quick and don't leave you with that sticky clammy feeling you sometimes get after using moisturiser. The smell reminds me of solero ice lollies, so you can go around smelling like them all day. I used it last night and the texture is so strange, it's like an actual sorbet. It's hard to describe but It feels like your slathering ice cream all over your body. But it's not sticky and it's actually doing something for your skin. Of course this is only for the summer and those heated days/nights as it's an alternative to after sun because it contains 100% organic Aloe Vera. The girl in the store recommended that I put it in the fridge for an even cooler treat.

Mango Body Mist - Still on the mango range, I then picked up their Body Mist which smelt AMAZING. I like it because it isn't so overpowering meaning that you can quickly top up throughout the day if need be. It is packaged nicely, could be a problem if I wanted to put it in my bag and carry it around as it is glass. I feel like I could use this for work as I don't like wearing an expensive perfume all the time. I will definitely give the other scents a try.

Virgin Mojito Shower Gel - Yes you heard it, a shower gel this is that famous cocktail that you have on a night out occasionally. I used this last night and something magically happened when the mint combined with the lime aroma with warm water - It comes to life and of course cleanses the skin without being harsh or stripping. Before I bought this the girl in the store recommended squirting a little under running water and enjoy the minty bubbles in the comfort of your bath tub, that sounded bliss to me. If you have tried anything from the Virgin Mojito range then do let me know as I would like to try the other products.

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion - I mainly bought this lotion to treat my blemishes and spots that have appeared around my chin these few days now. I used it last night and already a few of the spots have died down a bit. It's a lightweight lotion that provides light hydration while helping your skin get clearer. It does make your skin clearer by healing those blemishes, but it does not dry out on your skin. I will see how it does with my current spots/blemishes and then I will do a full review on it.

Rainforest Volume Conditioner - This was a random purchase as I had to try and get to the £25 mark but I did want to switch from my expensive conditioner. I used this last night and it is way better than my other conditioner. My hair felt so full of life and looked so shiny this morning. The only downside is that it's only a small bottle so I just know that this won't be lasting for a long time as I wash my hair daily but I think I may leave this in my travel essentials for the future.

wedding guest ideas

wedding outfit ideas

From L-R
A Line Dress - ASOS //Floral Dress - River Island ASOS // Floral Mini Dress - Chi Chi London ASOS // Kimono Midi Dress - Oasis // Long Sleeve Dress - Motel Rocks // Cropped Jumpsuit - River Island
In September I will be attending my friends wedding and because I rarely go to many weddings I looked in my wardrobe recently and I can't seem to find anything that would be acceptable for the day. So I have turned to online shopping and I have found some outfits that could help me with this problem. Firstly I turned to ASOS as they always have some lovely pieces on their website. Starting with this ASOS branded dress which I thought was very formal and something I could wear again after the wedding. It has a lovely touch of lace on the waist and a high neck which I do like. I had something floral and colourful in mind so finding this one from ASOS again but branded by River Island ticked all the boxes. Skater dresses are so easy to style and can be very flattering. The pattern is elegant and I'm only recently just starting to adore the colour yellow. I had never liked wearing yellow as it makes me look more pale skinned but I think I could deal with that as this dress is too pretty! Chi Chi London do some amazingly pretty dresses, I could just have them all in my wardrobe but sadly the prices are off putting to me. So I'm just adding this one to my wishlist because I think it is too pretty to not say no to. Bardot necks always remind me of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn style which is elegant and would look gorgeous for a wedding day. I could imagine just buying this dress to just twirl around my bedroom in.
I have always loved Oasis for their floral girly styles so I went straight onto their website. I came across this kimono style dress with a gorgeous exotic print. I especially love the neck as it's embellished so you wouldn't have to spend money on a chunky necklace to wear. Motel Rocks do have some lovely pieces underneath all their dark and grudge style outfits. I love lace especially this daisy style, it reminds me so much of the 50s/60s time. Lastly is a jumpsuit from River Island. Wide cropped trousers have always been off putting as I don't think they would suit my body shape but I love the style of this. I could imagine wearing it again for future events.
Now all I need to do is decide which is best for this wedding, if you have an idea which one would be acceptable then please let me know. I trust your opinions.

taking part in the race for life 10k - 2015

Unfortunately we live in a world where the word 'Cancer' is used far too often and somebody is diagnosed with Cancer in the UK every two minutes. My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer last march, she survived but there are many other people in the world that do not survive. After those many months I really wanted to do something to help those other families out there that were going through what I was going through with my family. I heard had a lot about the race for life but just never thought to do it, until one day I found out they had an event in my area. I contacted my best friend and we both signed up together.
On the morning of the run I felt so nervous but excited at the same time knowing that I was taking part for so many people out there in the world. But also that I had raised £145 from my sponsors. As soon as we got to Cofton Park the atmosphere was amazing and the determination from all the women showed how inspiring they all were on the day. I was joined by my mum and my boyfriend to support me and my friend. Before we took place at the starting line they did a small zumba class to get all us energized which was needed as this was at 8am in the morning (#notamorningperson). The zumba class really pumped me up and soon enough we were at the starting line.
Me and my friend finished the race in 1 hour and 30 minutes, the atmosphere when you run through that finish line is just so emotional. My mum was there waiting for me along with my boyfriend and a special surprise from my 5 year old cousin who just beamed with excitement as she watched me.

Cancer Research UK hold Race For Life events all over the country to raise money to research into all 200 types of cancer. You don't even have to run if you don't want to, you can walk, skip, hop, crawl or roll down the hill like most people did which looked more fun. All donations made will help fund the life saving work carried out by Cancer Research UK. There is currently a 50% chance people diagnosed with breast cancer will recover, if me taking out an hour on a Saturday morning increases that chance by even 1% then I have done a tiny little something.

i love: instagram accounts

Do you ever wake up in the morning and the first thing that you do is check Instagram?...because I do exactly that almost every morning. I follow many accounts on Instagram but I do have my favourites so just narrowing it down to just 5 was pretty hard!

gh0stparties - First is Kate who's Instagram always has me craving for food, beauty and cats. She is easily my favourite beauty based account as she always has her make up looking gorgeous. She also travels quite a bit so you can always find Paris, Barcelona and just those places us girls wish we were. If you love cats then you will love her cat Mouse who is the cutest thing I have ever seen.

fromrosesxo - Onto Rebecca who already has a blog that I adore but her Instagram is an account I will always be a nosey parker on as it just lovely. Her taste in decor and fashion is perfect, I am forever wishing she would come to me and just fix up my decor and wardrobe.

heidilouisedavies - Do I really have to explain why I love this account? HELLO PUGS! *heart eyes emoji*. I follow many pug accounts but this one is my favourite out of them all. Heidi's pugs are literally the cutest things. And it isn't just the pugs that I love, her home looks just like how I would imagine my home to be like in the future. But if you love pugs then you should follow her.
little_magpie1 - Fashion wise I love Amy's account as her outfits are to die for. She is possibly my favourite fashion-based account, I wish her wardrobe was mine. She also has a mix of her travels and beauty. I love how her photos are edited, she needs to give me tips. I could scroll for hours. She is literally a goddess from the photos she posts especially the close ups of her face as she always looks perfection.

milkbubbleteablog - Lastly is Becky's Instagram which is a very cute account. Her little pooch is so adorable, her decor is to die for and her lifestyle. Her blog is also something I follow on a daily basis because it's so bloomin' good. She always posts really nice food aswell like cupcakes which I just crave after looking at them.
